The term Mopar® traces its origins to the early 1920s when Chrysler first introduced the word. The brand Mopar was derived from the words "MOtor" and "PARts. The term Mopar was later introduced as a brand on August 1, 1937. Since its launch in 1937, Mopar has been operating for more than 80 years now. The Mopar division specialized in parts, service and after-sales customer service within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. What most people might not be aware of is the fact that Mopar also designs and builds a few customized vehicles like the Dodge Shakedown Challenger, Jeep CJ66, Dodge Durango Shaker, Ram Macho Power Wagon, Ram ProMaster Pit Stop, Mopar 13 Dart II and the Chrysler Pacifica Cadence.
Later, Chrylser started associating the brand Mopar with a wider range of products such as cleaners, heaters, waxes, oil filters and engine parts. Today, the Mopar brand ships more than 16 million parts worldwide each year. Mopar manufactures more than 500,000 parts and accessories. Mopar currently employs more than 7,000 employees and more than 34,000 technicians. Mopar provides parts and accessories for brands, not limited to, but including: Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep®, FIAT® and Lancia vehicles.
